PROJECT 2: SHOOTING PRACTICE & EDITING

Project 2A: Production Shoot Video

Task Allocated

During Week 05, Mr Martin tasked us Project 2A: Production Shoot Video, which our class have to be seperated into 3 different groups and work together to film specific scenes from the move "Everything, Everywhere All At Once".

Before the shooting day, which is a week before, my group mates already decided on the roles for everyone. I was sick, so I couldn't make it to class. However I was contacted by them through WhatsApp, and was given the role of being the camera and lighting assistant.

After completing the filming process, the producer of our group transfered all the files from the SD Card and shared it to everyone in the group through Google Drive. I downloaded all of the files for editing process later.

Video Editing

The idea for my movie trailer was inspired by the trailer: "NO TIME TO DIE / Official Theme Song by Billie Eilish [Preview]".  The idea came in mind when I first looked at the first scene of the actor being in the middle and just staring at the camera.

Cut Scenes
I have cut all the clips and selected a few scenes I would like to include in my movie trailer.

Colour Correction
Based on the requirements given by Mr Martin, which is attached below, I colour graded certain scenes with the combination.

Project 2B: Instagram / Tik Tok Video

To Do:
  1. Create our own tiktok / instagram video following our own interest
  2. Video should be self titled and we can weave our own theme as long as it is creative and reflects what we want to express personally

Tik Tok Video Shooting

I shot all the scenes myself throughout the day, a week before submission date. This ensures I have sufficient time to finish everything.

Video Editing

I Imported all the video clips into CapCut and started trimming the video. I used the app on my phone as I prefer to edit on my phone.

For the audio, I included voiceovers and also a very soft background music.

The background music used in the video is called "Would That I, by Hozier"

REFLECTION

Both of these video shooting projects are tiring and requires a lot of preparation and planning. From this experience, I learnt to manage my time properly when organising tasks to complete the assignment within the deadline. I really enjoyed the process of completing this project, especially group project 2A, as I was able to make new friends and learn new skills from every group member.

Overall, I felt that both tasks greatly improved my skills in video shooting, video editing, and colour correction.
